David Case/Acting

David Case, alum of both The Juilliard School and the University of Illinois with a BA from the university, has acted professionally for 15 years. In 1993, David decided to break ranks with the Chicago theatre scene and headed to NYC. Disappointed with his lack of real training with classes similar to “…you’re a glass of orange juice. Can you taste your own pulp?” he was accepted into The Juilliard School. While in NYC he landed such roles as a guest appearance on Law and Order playing Gary Busey’s son and booked jobs on Guiding Light, One Life to Live, All My Children, and played Romeo at the New Jersey Theatre Festival. He moved to LA for a while where his production and creative interests landed him on the lot of Paramount working as a creative executive for David Foster Productions. He recently directed for the Food Network for The Secret Life of... series and created, produced, and directed a HD travel show pilot called Before You Go.

David’s had many great acting teachers in his time. Notable instruction from John Stix, Richard Feldman, Wynn Handman, Larry Moss Studios, Sheila Gray, Ivana Chubbuck Studio, Bill Raffeld, Valeryi Beliakovich, Cheek by Jowl, Fiona Shaw, Liz Smith, The Actor’s Center, Maria Aitkin, Royal Dramatic Academy, and National Theatre of Great Britain. He’s also worked side by side with great writers such as Jessica Goldberg, Christopher Durang, Marsha Norman, Joe Pintauro, Nick Meyer, John Carpenter, Roger Avary, Tracy Tormé, AJ Carothers to name just a few. He continues to work on his own stories for children through his involvement with the SCBWI organization in the way of conferences and critique classes with author Joyce Sweeney. David’s passion remains in acting, through the classes he teaches to young adults and the camps he creates and develops. Last year he created, developed, and helped run Camp Rising Stars through the Wellington JCC. It is David’s mission to bring his passion and real world experiences to young actors everywhere.
